Liability-related conduct in the event of transport damage
or: how to recognize, treat and properly handle transport damage

All items and shipments are personally inspected and carefully packaged by us before dispatch. Nevertheless, in very rare cases, items in a shipment may arrive damaged or even missing. Therefore, please check your delivery very carefully.

  • Is the cardboard box battered, dented, or damaged?
  • Is the number of packages complete according to the enclosed documents?

If any goods are obviously missing or damaged, please report the matter immediately in writing as described below. Email to office@roomours.de. Wir We will get back to you as soon as possible and then discuss the next steps with you.

Please do not send damaged shipments or items without written authorization from roomours back on his own initiative.

It is particularly in your own interest to strictly adhere to the procedures described below.

As the recipient, you have a legal obligation to check the documents!

Delivery by freight carrier

roomours Large appliances are shipped via freight carrier and may be delivered on a pallet. In the event of visible transport damage, it is recommended to unpack the shipment in the presence of the delivering carrier and have the damage noted on the delivery receipt or delivery note with the date, time, and signature, and then have it certified. The license plate number of the delivery vehicle must also be recorded. Photographs for documentation purposes are very helpful in processing the claim more efficiently.

Delivery via parcel service

If the packaging is obviously damaged from the outside, please refuse acceptance completely, or if the goods are urgently needed, be sure to note the damage on the delivery slip with date and time.

Please take the time to check the shipment in the presence of the delivery driver. Any missing items should be noted on your receipt.

In all cases, the following applies::

  • Damage and missing items must be noted and acknowledged by the driver.
  • Leave the goods and packaging completely unaltered.
  • DO NOT use the damaged goods.
  • Report the damage roomours by mail

Types of transport damage

Visible transport damage

Visible transport damage exists when the outer packaging is obviously dented, torn or damaged in any other way.

The visible transport damage must be reported immediately in writing to roomours to report.

Alternatively, and as the easiest way for both you and us, you can of course assumption the shipment was damaged refuse.

If the shipment shows visible signs of damage, it is recommended that you open the delivery in the presence of the delivery person. Make sure there is no concealed damage. In particular, check whether the contents are damaged or missing.

By signing, the recipient confirms not only the receipt of the goods but also the externally correct condition of the shipping or transport packaging, without any visible defects. Therefore, always have the delivery person immediately draw up a damage report. Have them describe all damage to the packaging and delivered items in detail and have them list all missing items precisely. Photographs of the damaged items or shipments have proven useful as evidence.Otherwise, claims for damages arising from transport damage are excluded.

Concealed transport damage

Concealed transport damage occurs when the outer packaging appears undamaged, but the contents are damaged.

Please inspect the goods immediately upon receipt. Hidden transport damage occurs when it is only discovered after acceptance of the shipment. The recipient should describe the damage as precisely as possible and, in any case, retain the goods, including the outer and shipping packaging, for inspection of the transport damage. Documenting the damage with photographs has also proven effective in this regard.

Our employee will then contact the recipient immediately to initiate further steps.

Defects discovered later that result from improper handling during transport will no longer be recognized or compensated by insurance companies. The same applies to missing outer and shipping packaging.

Please do not accept any shipment marked "subject to review"!
